Pacific Hospitality Group (PHG) has extended its operating agreement for the Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, securing another five years as the operator of the eight-story property. This agreement coincides with an ongoing $17 million renovation project across the resort.

PHG, an Irvine-based hotel management group founded in 1987 by Tim Busch, originally built the Paséa Hotel & Spa in 2016 and has overseen its operations since that time. Garrett Busch, who was named president of PHG in 2022 after eight years running his family's winery, Trinitas Cellars, commented on the firm’s long-term approach to its properties. Paséa Hotel & Spa is owned by a partnership led by the Busch family and Eagle Four Partners, alongside other stakeholders.

The revitalization of Paséa commenced in 2024 with an initial $5 million investment. This first phase included a rebrand of the hotel restaurant and bar into Lōrea, a refresh of its rooftop bar, Treehouse on PCH, and a redesign of the oceanfront Ninth Island Pool. Following this, PHG committed an additional $12 million to renovate all 250 guestrooms and suites. The guestroom refresh is being managed by local design firm Stylo Haus.

Updates to the resort’s accommodations are slated for completion in 2027. Renovations to other amenities, which include the Aarna Spa, various meeting and event rooms, the fitness center, and the lobby area, are scheduled to be finished in early 2028.

President Garrett Busch stated that “long-term ownership gives us the ability to think beyond the next quarter” and make decisions based on the potential of a property and its destination over time. He added that this perspective has consistently guided their approach to Paséa from the outset, emphasizing that the investment aims to ensure the resort continues to evolve and remain relevant to the travelers and community it serves.

PHG currently operates a portfolio of 11 properties, representing more than 2,400 rooms. Its collection includes the Meritage Collection, of which Paséa is a part, as well as branded hotels such as AC Hotel Irvine, DoubleTree by Hilton Irvine Spectrum, and Hotel Zessa Orange County Airport, a DoubleTree by Hilton. The group recently expanded its Meritage collection with the opening of the Denū Hotel & Spa in Downtown Phoenix on September 21, adding 236 rooms to its offerings. Busch highlighted Paséa as a strong example of their long-term investment model, with Denū representing their future direction.

For the month of October, daily room rates at Paséa range from $265 to $864, according to current information.
