High schools within the Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) have earned substantial acclaim in the latest annual “America’s Best High Schools” rankings, meticulously compiled and released by U.S. News & World Report. This prestigious annual evaluation undertakes a comprehensive review of public and private educational institutions nationwide, assessing a vast field of 18,000 high schools to determine their standing. Key criteria forming the basis of these rankings include essential metrics such as college readiness and graduation rates, alongside other vital educational factors.

The outcome of this extensive national assessment cast a favorable light upon the Garden Grove Unified School District. Notably, all seven of the comprehensive high schools operating under the GGUSD achieved a commendable ranking within the top 20 percent of the nation's high schools. This collective recognition highlights a district-wide commitment to delivering high-quality education and preparing students for post-secondary success.

Individual schools within the district also garnered impressive specific placements. La Quinta High School, for example, distinguished itself by ranking 30th within the expansive Los Angeles metro area. Furthermore, its academic performance placed it 75th across all high schools in the state of California and secured the 512th position nationally. Demonstrating broader excellence across the district, four of its six high schools—Bolsa Grande, Garden Grove, La Quinta, and Pacifica—were recognized as ranking within the top 10 percent of high schools throughout California. These consistent high placements underscore the robust educational framework in place across these institutions.

Board of Education President Bob Harden weighed in on these achievements, expressing pride in the district's performance. Harden attributed this significant national recognition to “the extraordinary commitment of our teachers and staff,” underscoring their dedication to equipping every student for success in college, their chosen careers, and beyond. He further stated that the ongoing acknowledgment of the district's high schools affirms the inherent strength of its academic programs, reflects the consistent quality of instruction delivered across all its campuses, and highlights the outstanding educational opportunities made readily available to all students enrolled in GGUSD schools.
